How to set up Linux OpenVPN

This guide will show you how to manually set up OpenVPN client on Linux using the Terminal. You will be establishing a Linux OpenVPN connection via Terminal, using SnowdenVPN's configuration files.

Install OpenVPN client

Launch a Terminal session, and then enter the following command:

sudo apt-get install openvpn

Set up OpenVPN client and connect to VPN server

Copy downloaded configuration file vpn-in-cloud.ovpn to home directory:

cp ~/Downloads/vpn-in-cloud.ovpn ~/

Launch OpenVPN client:

cd ~
sudo openvpn --config vpn-in-cloud.ovpn
